This set is perfect if you are needing a good multimeter and clamp meter. Buy the set and save $$
The box say’s this is a Electrician’s Combo kit. I’m no electrician but the features I was looking for was on the fluke 117 and for a few more dollors I opt. for this kit. I had a cheap meter and it blew up after I used it to test an outlet as I did so many times before. I’m a D.I.Y. and I wanted a well built meter and this kit is well built. The 117 is heavy’er than my last one plus it has a stand and a magnetic hanging strap. The leads are alot heavy’er than my last. The 117 is calibrated to meet ISO 9001 and is certified. I asked a co-worker about the clamp meter and got to see how both meters work together. “For those who, like me wanting to know why you needed two meters” and also when I got this I thought I was getting two sets of leads one for each meter but I WAS WRONG I got only one set and now I know why. You use the 117 to test the volts and the clamp meter to test the amps at one time. You clamp a wire and set it for amps and thats it no need for leads. That is cool in my book. I wish I could give more info but this is all I know besides that I trust the readings from both meters and highly very highly recommend this kit to anyone!!!!!!!!!
As a plumber who encounters electricity on occasion, especially with some relaxing of the electrical code, i want a tool I can trust and I know Fluke is a trusted name. This does what I need it to not any more and not any less. with some of my ignorance in electricity, however; i was under the impression that I would be able to use the clamp around say a line to a waterheater and i would be able to tell if it was still hot but i now know you can only clamp a single positive or negative wire because both together will cancel out and read zero.
I purchased the Fluke-322 to replace an old failed AmpProbe meter. The Fluke meter is easy very easy to use.
I am very pleased with this purchase
The Fluke 322 is a great tool for the price. It has good accuracy and, is easy to use. I would definitely recommend it for anyone needing basic troubleshooting and metering.
Fluke is the best. I am a journeyman electrician and this is a great product and a price you can’t beat.
this is my second Fluke 322, my first being stolen on a job site, well thats construction. the 322 are rugged and very reliable, they are not True RMS, but for simple motor troubleshooting they are an affordable substitute. i’ve used the clamp on some pretty big 300 amp motors and have never had the glitch on me and have turned around and tested small voltages with no problems. its that kind of flexibilty i like about the fluke 322.
I have been accustomed to using Fluke meters with the blue backlight, which are very easy to read, and then I bought this meter with the green backlight and I don’t like it. The blue backlight is a brighter light, with equal intensity over the whole LCD screen and the green backlight is just not as easy to read, but it is still a high quality meter.
This meter is nice because it has a lot of functions built into it which allows me to carry only one meter instead of the previous two meters.
The 902 is a great product, solid and gets the job done in HVAC. Compared to a regular multi-meter, the 902’s screen is much smaller and harder to see, and often at an angle to the work that you’re doing. Fluke gives you a hold button for these situations, which is great, but I often find myself pulling out a bench multi-meter for quicker troubleshooting and basic continuity checks. If I were shopping now, I would definitely get the 902 and then maybe get a basic bench multi-meter, maybe the 115. I would then use the 902 for the micro-amp, micro-farad, and AC amperage measurements, and the bench multi-meter for everything else. I personally have a Fluke 117 with the 902 and am very pleased. Remember don’t go cheap on your meters: something like 80%+ HVAC problems are electrical, and I personally don’t want to hold a no-name meter in live circuits.
I have had one of these in my work toolbag (very rough usage) for many, many years now. This thing is a workhorse of a multimeter. I test everything from 6v DC to 460v 3-phase with no problem. It always gives a quick reading. This thing is even idiot-proof, as you don’t need to select AC or DC current. I’ve used this feature then in a remote area, checking power (Am I getting 12v AC or DC??).
One con I can think of, is the spread of the amp current jaws. I have come up with wires that just won’t fit. This won’t happen in most applications, though. I have to say that this is one rock-solid meter, and it has made my job easier. It has attached leads, which I really have grown to like. You just clip them to the back of the meter, wrap the wires lengthwise around the meter & stuff it back into the toolbag.
I have even purchased another one for my tool chest at home, and seem to pull it out more often than my other meters, a Fluke 179 and a Simpson 260. It’s just an easy meter to use, and I can’t recommend it highly enough.
Talk about simple to use! This thing is stupid proof. I absolutely love it. You can always count on Fluke to produce a real quaility tester….and they make something for every person’s needs.
I work as a Master Mechanic is a large manufacturing plant and needed something I could shove in my pocket and not get the leads all tangled. I especially liked the open-jaw ammeter.
The only drawbacks I found is the ohmmeter that shows an open (infinite resistance) after 1K. That has caused me to condemn good components. Also the plastic clip that holds one of the leads broke shortly after I bought my first one. I was able to fix it with a little silicone caulk. About 4 years later I lost a segment in the readout that made it hard to distinguish numbers. That’s when I bought my second one. 4 years is good service for a low-cost tool made out of plastic that gets constant use and abuse.
This tester is great! It is made by Fluke, so it is the top quality. This tester is a great tester, and I would recommend it to anyone!
It a Fluke need I say more? I find in life you get what you pay for. If you want a great meter this is it, look no more.
