Our reign as supreme team in the NFC West came to a crashing end and the Seahawks could only manage to beat out the St. Louis Rams in the division. The Seahawks, again, became the forgotten team and that has carried over into this year as Seattle has not been scheduled for any Monday Night or Sunday Night Football games. Seattle has a tough mission ahead of them. They need to show the NFL world that last season was a fluke, and, in my opinion, they will do just that.

The offseason for the Seahawks has been a tumultuous one, but one everyone was prepared for. Everyone knew that the end of the season would fluke 12 multimeter be met with the departure of beloved coach Mike Holmgren, but luckily, this was not a surprise. The Seahawks had already been exposed to current Head Coach Jim Mora Jr. for two years and knew that he would be calling the shots come 2009-2010. The offseason has also brought incredible additions, additions that easily make the Seahawks a playoff contender and a Super Bowl contender as well. The addition of T.J. Houshmandzadeh is a gigantic move, one that will give Hasselbeck a pro-bowl receiver to throw to. The addition of Houshmandzadeh is also big when you realize how many teams were after him and how he chose Seattle.
After having an excellent draft, one that brought starter Aaron Curry and underrated Deon Butler to the team, the Seahawks only improved. Now, with Jim Mora Jr. pushing the athl etes to the maximum and a pro-bowl receiver who not only is amazing on the field, but can also be an excellent mentor to the other receivers such as Butler, the Seahawks look ready to tackle a new season and let the NFL know that they’re back.
There are numerous teams who could be the comeback team of the year but none as well developed as the Seahawks. For teams such as the Rams and Lions, the keys to success have been missing for years. For the Seahawks however, injuries brought an end of the 2008-2009 season, not lack of talent. The talent is there, and that is what separates the Seahawks from the bunch of teams who did poorly last year. If our key players can stay healthy, the road to the playoffs and the Super Bowl is well within reach. You can’t say that about the other teams.
